Without systems, the more you grow, the more you work!
Selecting and implementing the right systems and procedures will totally transform your business, in days!
I love systems, but I hate managing the small details
Being an entrepreneur, an ideas person, having a creative mind, doesn't often sit well with managing the small stuff, the details.
You know it is important. You just don't want it to be you that look after it.
Astra Zeneca
You've probably heard of them, they are a big pharma company, who make things like the Covid Vaccine. They do this in labs and that is where we come in.
I don't work with big corporates.
I work with the people who work there.
Scale can be daunting. But, when you review it in more detail, patterns emerge and repeat themselves. Once you see them, it becomes easier to provide solutions that scale.
The format of the solutions varies, but typically, follows one of a number of patterns. Astra Zeneca did not fit into the 'typical mold'.
Their labs perform tests, then either pass, or retest. It is the volume, the naming conventions and the timescales that makes them particularly interesting.
After our initial on-site intensive, we were able to build out specific and unique layouts that enabled all of the lab staff to run, manage and review all relevent tests, to know what to do next.
This saved them time and money (particularly on re-tests). It worked and we've been working with them for about 10 years now.
BEING THE ONLY PERSON WHO MAKES ALL THE DECISIONS CAN BE TOUGH
So, being able to delegate and share the workload is key to growth, but that can be scary!
Recognising that sharing your workload is the key to scaling your business, is the first step.
To make this easier, systems that scale allow you to review all information in real-time, on multiple devices, and even at multiple locations.
This means you can easily collaborate, check work remotely and leave notes or comments to help influence outcomes, while at the same tims starting to step back from the direct decision making process.
If it is still to omuch, simply use the data to make the decisions yourself and leverage the systems to effectively communicate tasks and work to others.
Systems have to fit you and your business, including your staff and their teams.
WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS
WHO ELSE IS AFFECTED
BY YOUR DECISIONS
CAN OTHERS HELP TO
SHARE THE BURDEN
REAL-TIME INFORMATION
IS KEY
PLANNING AND SCHEDULING ARE nOT THE SAME THING
EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION
IS THE WAY FORWARD
It is no good one person having all the answers 'in their head',
when others need to take action, or, make decisions.
WHAT SYSTEM ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO MANAGE, AND HOW
The what matters, but not as much as the how. The how speaks to your management style, your approach to communication and the type of solution and system that will fit best, for you (as well as your team/staff).
WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH YOUR CURRENT APPROACH
Systems often evolve as a company grows, this is common. What you needed on day 1 will be different once you scale up.
Understanding this, and what the impact of this is on your business today, is vital.
Recovering your time enables you to focus on what matters, to make the decisions that matter and to run your business, rather than it running you!
